The main building on the site of the original World Trade Center complex in Lower Manhattan, New York City. Opened on November 3,2014. Designed by David Childs, owner Skidmore, Owings & Merrill.
The tallest building in the U.S.,the Western Hemisphere, and the seventh tallest building in the world. Towering on the same ground as the original North Tower of the Twin Towers downed by terror attacks on September 11, 2001, this new skyscraper stands on the northwest corner of the World Trade Center site. Bounded by West Street to the west, Vesey Street to the north, Fulton Street to the south and Washington Street to the east.
Its height in feet, 1776, created in a deliberate reference to the year of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The building embodies 104 standard floors high. The tower has 94 actual floors. The construction of this building is, in part, an effort to memorialize and proudly rebuild the World Trade Center complex, as this site includes 5 high rise office buildings, and the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, located where the original Twin Towers stood.
